Only here in Arkansas can it be warm enough for shorts one day and cold enough for snow and ice the next! CRAZY!! We are enjoying the effects of an arctic blasts today and are inside staying as warm and as busy as possible. It is not supposed to get above freezing today and because it is not even pretty snow I kept the kids in. Ice is no fun and this soon to be mommy of four does not want to risk slipping and falling or having a kid plow into her from slipping and falling. I wish we would get some snow with this nasty ice but in any case we are as prepared as can be. We are stocked up on food, batteries, candles, blankets, and clean warm clothes as well as stuff to keep us busy while we stay inside.
Paul is off and we are enjoying lots of fun. Here is a small list of things we have done so far today:
Slept in
Made cookies with the girls
A nap for Paul and Ian
Art
Stayed in our PJ's, or at least Mommy and Daddy did
A little school : )
Snuggle in the blankets
Watch some TV
Read Christmas books
Have hot soup for lunch
Catch up on my blogs
Catch up on Emersyn's journal
Card Games with the kids
Watch the snow and ice
Finish up grandparent gifts
Finish and order Christmas cards
Wrap some gifts and start putting them under the tree
Finish up the last of the online shopping
Tonight we have planned to watch a Christmas movie or two, drink some hot chocolate and egg nog, and have popcorn and Christmas tree cakes and of course more cookies! We will probably all stay up late and cuddle and I am pretty sure we will eat or bake some more.
I love time with my family and days like today but I am just praying it is only for a few days! Three kids, one cat, a pregnant mommy, and a daddy all stuck indoors together for days on end may not end well : )
