Unit 21 in review

We had a good week of learning and fun but sadly the computer is out so I have to blog from the phone. Here is our week in pictures over unit 21 on how the French explores Detroit.

We did an organizer about some of the pioneer countries we have learned about and wrote in our journals. We reviewed each country and how God led those pioneers and helped them.

Here are the girls doing geography and doing some map work. We looked at two   French explorers, La Salle and Marquette

Our non fiction book we are reading for the next few weeks. They seem to be liking it and learning from it. We did an ocean unit last year and this book would have been great to read.

I do a weekly fluency check on each girl based on a book they are reading in their level. They are doing great!

They had fun building their spelling words with letter tiles. We did ee words this week and two phonics lessons to get a little ahead.

We made canoes because we studied how important they were to the French settlers who helped find Detroit. That was fun!

In science we learned how God have each bird the beak they needed to survive. We also studies clouds and made a cloud book.

We also worked on math by adding and subtracting numbers with hundreds and the girls picked it up quick! We had piano lessons and computer time as well as outside play until it turned too cold. We also did our bible time and lessons.
