This week we learned about life during the Revolutionary War and the girls were very excited and interested! Here is a snapshot of some of fun learning activities we did.

Art for the week! We were supposed to use frosting and make it edible but being on bed rest and not having the stuff at home we improvised! It was still fun!
We watched an American Girl movie and then wrote facts and opinions on it. The girls loved it and did well.
The girls also read their own non fiction books and made a fact journal. After each days reading they had to write down two facts that they read. They both enjoy these National Geographic books.
We used these to review spelling words this week. Both girls also finished their ETC books! I am very proud of them.
Their favorite science lesson was looking at healthy verses unhealthy foods. We also learned a little about stars and constellations.
We worked very hard on adding and subtracting with regrouping. The girls did their first review lesson in book 2a and made a 100%! I treat those as a test and let them work on their own and then grade it. I am beyond proud of their high math skills at 6.
In bible we reviewd verses as well as AWANA verses. We also read how David chose to follow God instead of his men when it came to killing Saul. We learned about deserts and caves as well.
We reviewed common and proper nouns in language as well as our DLR. The girls had piano practice and PE as well as xtramath on the computer.
It is hard to believe we only have 10 units left in our guide this year!
