LHFHG:
Ian worked in day 4 of unit 21 today.
We read about Ponce de Leon in history and how he explored Florida and found a spring of water where he buried a silver helmet and cross. We went on a treasure hunt to act out our story and also worked on our verses for AWANA and HOD. Ian finished his first AAR reader today!!! I so proud of him and he was so excited to finish. In math we started counting mixed money with dimes and pennies and did some review of previous skills.
Preparing:
I am so proud of the girls for completing all of day 3 today!!
In history we read from Grandpa's Box about Paul's return to Jerusalem and how the Jews tried to kill him! They were mad that he was preaching to the Gentiles. Paul used his Roman citizenship to ask for a trial with Casear. The girls helped me read and then did a retelling. We looked up all these places on a bible map for some geography work.
For Storytime I read three chapters of Fountain of Life. Our main characters finally accepted Jesus as his savior and also is now betrothed!!! The girls also finished their cross mosaics and drew a picture of heaven after reading Reveletion 22:1-5.
We did red our poem and had bible quiet time and copy work with our unit verses and also with AWANA verses. The girls completed a lesson in math, which they did well on, did two language lessons over common and proper nouns, read from their folktale, and also published their retell of last weeks myth in writing. We worked on writing and indentinf multiple paragraphs. Science was reading and answering comprehnsiom questions. The girls also did their spelling and dictation. It was a long and full day!!! Both Audrey and Ian had ball games.

LHFHG:
Ian finished unit 21 today!!! We read about Pizzaro and the gold in Peru and had fun making gold coins fill our paper room for art and history. Ian traced all of his verse and worked on two AWANA verses for tonight. We skipped our rhyme today but did practice his choir songs. I read a chapter of Chatter and we talked about how God sees everything we do, even tricks we play on our fiends. We also went through book one of AAR and reread a few stories to make sure that Ian is ready to move to book 2. We did a math lesson and works on counting money and subtraction.
The girls also finished up unit 21 today!!!! They did their independent history and read from the book of Revelation and also did their timeline adding about Paul and Nero of Rome. We also finished up Grandpa's Box, which made us all sad😢 The girls each did a very good written narration about John's vision of heaven. We all took turns reading from the book because none of us wanted it to be finished!!
We did some dictation and spelling work along with a review of singular and plural nouns for language. In reading the girls read their folktales and we talked about them and they also had to read a chapter in The Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson. This book is one that goes along with our study on China. The girls have a book to read and I also have a read aloud. In writing we brainstormed strong verbs to add to a rough draft of paragraph one from our myth this week.
In math we talked about some geometry with lines, rays, and parallel lines along with a speed drill, review, and extra math practice on the computer. The girls are still enjoying math and I am so thankful that we switched!! Having all three kiddos in one math program is another plus!! It is working with all of them.
We had AWANA in the evening and piano lesson on the afternoon to help round our our day.

The girls wanted to study different countries this year. I had them each pick a few countries they wanted to learn about and what they wanted to know. We will take our time and do a read aloud, a biography, map work, art, research, cooking, and a culminating activity. Some of the counties we plan to "visit" are France, Japan, China, and Moracco.
