Friday: We had a snow day on January 6 which pushed back our Monday plans. After some fun in the snow the kids sat down and did some work. Ian did a math lesson and read a story from his AAR book along with reading to Daddy. The girls did their math lesson and chose their realistic fiction books for our new unit. They filled in their calendars. We also read our history chapter on William the Conquer along with some research on relics and starting our history project.
Monday: We took a fine arts day and attended a ballet! We saw The Little Mermaid ballet put on by a local organization in our town. That took up all of our morning. The girls practiced piano and all the kids met their reading goals on their Kindle along with their educational apps. We had our family reading time and that was our day!
Tuesday: Co op started back today as did piano lessons! The kids also had reading time and Kindle goals to meet. By the time all this is done, including travel time, it is nearly 2:00 so Tuesday's are a short but still meaningful part of our week!
Wednesday: We eventually found our school groove today! We went full force today and worked hard! Ian did well on his math and reading! He wrote a sentence on his own today!! His b and d reversals are less frequent and he is able to tell on his own more if he says the incorrect sound!
The girls finished up day one of unit 26 by listening to me read aloud a and looking at poetry and their unit verses. They both did very well on math today and are enjoying their new reading books. We also did some science and are still in our coral reef book. They added a notebook page today to their science binder. Tonight we all have AWANA!
Thursday:
Ian was so excited to start on xtramath! He is doing well with the ng sound in reading. His writing is also better.
The girls had a busy day!! They did vocabulary, math, reading, history, and more!
Friday: We had a light day and managed to finished up the first half of our HOD units, which was my goal!! The kids were happy about PTT today! I read Owl Moon and we enjoyed some hot chocolate on this cold day. The kids then drew a picture from He book they liked and wrote a poem to go with it! The big girls had poetry creative writing in their guide today as well.
