April 3-7, 2017

Monday:

Ian did well today and is getting better at memorizing his math facts. We are working on letters that have multiple sounds and it is going slowly but we will get there. I plan on lots of games to reinforce the skill.

Since the girls finished up their guide last week we are finishing up math and language. I also found some $1 workbooks for us to do some science and geography. We will also write a story each week and go through the steps in the writing process. I also have a read aloud to read to all the kids.

Tuesday:

Today we had our usual busy outside of the house school day! We went to co op class, piano lessons, did Kindle apps, read, and had ball practice!

Wednesday:

Ian is not fast on his math facts so speed drills frustrate him! He is learning them though!! He enjoyed our sight word poem activity and learning about how Arkansas got its name! We are still working on letters hat have more than one sound.

The girls had fun doing some chemical changes in science with their MC2 kit. They worked on their nonfiction fact books in reading and made a neighborhood map in geography. They worked in their math books and are almost finished with book 6!! Revising and editing each other's papers in writing was fun for them.

Thursday:

Ian is enjoying rereading stories this week as we continue to work on letters with more than one sound. We did some math today and he did well on his quiz.

The girls worked in their math unit books and also finished their book project to share tomorrow. We did a few language lessons and they also published their writing for the week.

Friday:

We have a giraffe pattern on our photos today because we have been among the millions watching April the giraffe waiting for her to have her baby! In art today we even drew giraffes!!

Ian had a math lesson today and then we just played some games for reading. He also did a journal about a worm family.

The girls shared their book projects on our Facebook page and also had a math lesson and enjoyed art and poetry tea time to end our week. They are both practicing piano on preparation of playing in church soon. All of the kids also had story time as we continue to read The Cricket on Times Square.
