Will Our Kids Turn Out Okay?

As a parent you always wonder if you are doing right by your children. Recently we came across this article with the top 10 reasons your kid will be all right. We just had to share and put some of our own insight in.

1. They hardly remember anything before age 2. Kind of scary since our girls will be 3 in a few weeks.

2. Your toddler is too small to understand what you called the person who cut you off while driving. Well our girls do understand the words stupid and meanie and thank the Lord they do not hear anything worse than that!

3. Sooner or later your child will come to realize that the large purple dinosaur is not real. Not too worried about this one as our girls are fans of the Yo Gabba Gabba show (hopefully they won't turn out "weird" like the characters on that show, Yikes!). We pray this phase will pass!

4. Your tween is big enough to understand what you said but smart enough not to repeat it in front of grandma. We so wish this one pertained to toddlers. The other day Audrey told someone they were fat!

5. There must be at least some minerals in chips! In our case it would be ice cream, it is made from milk which does a body good!

6. Losing the spelling bee or suffering from braces actually does build character. Lisa still has nightmares about the spelling bee! Can you spell battery?

7. At some point your son will want to bathe, when he gets interested in girls. Gee, we can't wait for this phase. There is always the water hose.

8. One akward yearbook photo won't kill you!! You should see some of Pauls! Lisa must not remember the perm faze!!

9. There are a million and one ways to raise kids but only a few ways to mess them up royally!! Amen for that! I think we found those one or two ways - can anyone say Ticklemonster?

10. Because they've got the world's greatest parents! Well we try our best and rely heavily on prayer and trips to Nanny and Pawpaw's!! and maybe Mrs. Jessica (if Mommy will ever let them stay the night there)!


I think the author left off prayer! Without we wouldn't be parents and our girls wouldn't know to serve the Lord even at the age of 2.
