Faith, Furniture, and Fun

The VanEvera Family September 10-16

Well this was certainly an fun week! If you read my previous blog you would know that our oldest daughter Audrey Gray, asked Jesus in her heart!! What a way to start the week. She really has been a different child and we have seen a wonderful use for her stubborness! She is now learning verses in AWANA and she has a goal to learn three a week and she does not stop on on until she has it on her own. I love her determination!  She talked with our pastor this week or seems to feel that she is 100% sure what she did and that Jesus lives in her heart and that she will go to heaven one day!  We are still talking about our public profession and baptism and are waiting for her to let us know she is ready.

We also finally were able to purchase new furniture for our living room and dining room!  We now have enough spots for our little family and then some and our table will now seat 8!  If only my last four chairs would come in! We spent Monday and part of Tuesday with no dining table at all as we sold our old one on Sunday. It was fun for the kids having school and eating on the floor for a few days!  Now I am just ready to have it all done! My fingers are crossed it will all be here tomorrow.

Ian is now a super big guy who poops in the potty!! He event tells us he needs to go and is not scared anymore. Now if only we could get him to tell us he needs to pee we will be set. He wears underwear because he has decided no more diapers. He is also really good to go when we take him but he does not initiate it often. We are almost there!

The girls new school curriculum came in last week and they were so excited. They can already do most of the math since it is a Kindergarten level but I wanted to make sure we hit every K level skill, even if they already know it. I spent alot of last year working on literacy. Their new bible readers are a first grade level to be started in week 6 of the program and they can both already read the first few stories :)  They are both really excited to be starting My Father's World. We started today and they seemed to really like it. I still have to throw in some writing skills, grammar, and challenging activities but they love it. We do about 4-5 hours of school a day and try to hit reading, writing, math, word study, bible, social science, PE, computer, and library daily and then rotate in music and art. Even my little big guy is catching on to some of the skills and loving it.

This week we have no big plans but are working on a small trip for either Paul and I or for the family. Ian is having a hard time being away from me right now :( He loves his mommy!  I can't wait to see what we finally decide on.
