March 13-17, 2017

This week we are working hard because we plan to take next week off and enjoy spring break with daddy!! Ian finished up LHFHG this week and the girls have one more unit left in Preparing. We will finish our year completing the 3 R's and doing some fun geography and science experiments together along with bible and read aloud time.

Monday:

Ian had a super day!! He is working had on his handwriting and doing great. He enjoyed learning about the life cycle of a butterfly and making the stages with candy. He also read a story in his reader.  He is trying hard in reading.

The girls also had a busy day! They did well on their language test. I am still deciding be using IEW's Fix It Grammar or Growing with Grammar for next year. The girls are doing well in  math and learning more each day. They are in the middle of book 6 out of 10 in level 4. We read about WW1 and learned about the Zeppelin in our history study today. They are excited to finish up our storytime book, The Family Under the Bridge.

Tuesday
Our co op is out this week so we had  a regular day of school at home with the three R's and outside activities. We finished up so quickly that I didn't have time for pictures. The girls still had piano lessons and two kiddos had ball practice that ended up being canceled due to the cold wet weather we had.  Ian also had a play date with one of his good friends. It was a busy day for sure but a good day.

Wednesday

Ian did well on learning new sounds of letters in reading today. We are going slow to make sure he gets the sounds correct and to memory! He did well in math and his handwriting is getting better each day!!!

The girls finished up day 3 in our guide. We read about WWII and looked up countries on a map and also did a web assignment about Pearl Harbo and took a quiz. They did some reading and math as well. They will have a light day tomorrow and then we will be off!!
