March 6- 10, 2017

Monday:

Ian had a great start to the week! We are learning that some letters make more one sound and are still working hard at addition and subtraction facts. He is also dong well playing change a word each day with the beginning, middle, and ending sound magnets I found.

The girls bucked down and overcame the Monday blues and finished in record time! They published their writing thus completing our IEW book for the year and also finished math book 5 in our math!! We read, researched and discussed the Civil War.

Tuesday:

 What a day!! We had our co op in the morning followed by the girls piano lessons, and then both  Ian and Audrey had ball practice!! Both practices were cancelled due to rain but I got called in to work the dance desk for Ally's dance studio and Ian's team had a meeting. Whew what a day!!

Wednesday:

Ian starters working on two digit addition!! He caught on to the process rather easily today and I am so proud!! He did well on identifying sounds in his reading and also in his handwriting!!

The girls had a great day as well!! They started their new math book and did well and also had some did some science and read in history about the Franco Prussian War. We used some geographical to look up those areas.

Thursday:

Remember the Alamo!!! Ian really enjoyed his history and art lesson today!! He did well in reading though I am still concerned in that area as it is very slow going and at times he just blurts out random words instead of slowly  sounding them out! If he takes the time to touch each letter and blend then he does well.

The girls had a good day today on all subjects. They are each enjoying their nonfiction books about various countries and are both doing well in math. I am so happy we switched to CLE this year! They finished their Civil War map for their history project for this unit and also read about the many inventions made like the phograph, locomotive, and more. 

Friday:

Ian did some more rain forest  art today! He also did some journal writing and reading as well as math.  Next week is our least week in LHFHG!!

The girls finished up their unit in HOD this weeks. They are really enjoying our new read aloud! They had fun mimicking stork legs in our science experiment.

We all had poetry tea time and discussed rhyme in poetry using our language book. The kids each made a weekly video. We will school all next week and then take off for spring break.
