This week

The VanEvera Family November 27 - December 3rd

Man is it hard to get back into a routine after a week!! In all honesty I can say we are on our way just get off track again with Christmas, but oh well life would be pretty boring if every day were the same!

This week we started off with some girl time!! My mom and I took the girls shopping and to a movie while Paul worked on his papers and Ian napped. It was so much fun, I love spending time with my favorite girls in the world. We saw Aurthur Christmas and it was pretty cute and the girls enjoyed and I ate movie popcorn for like the first time since summer!! I think I ate a little too much : )

Monday we just stayed home and recuperated from all of our Thanksgiving activities and I got back to my running! I didn't think I would miss it but I did. Plus I need to run off that pound and a half I gained during Thanksgiving! I also spent the entire day looking for a leap pad for the girls and after days and hours of calling 50 or more stores, using relatives, and searching the Internet, I hit success!!! I will have two happy girls on Christmas morning. I know and my girls know that the true meaning of Christmas is not wrapped under a tree but was wrapped in a manger long ago in Bethlehem and for those who have accepted the gift it lives in their hearts. My sweet Audrey who is the most behaviorally challenged asked for one thing...a leap pad. I couldn't let her down if at all possible and make her think she was so bad she didn't even get a Santa gift she wanted. She has been so good trying to earn one from Santa that I had to give it my all. I know it is silly to pray about finding a toy at Christmas but I did and with in an hour I found some in stock!! The Lord does answer even the simplest of prayers!

Tuesday my other kids were back and we had fun just playing and then Wednesday brought on another busy day. We had to order my nieces gift, pick up our first round of pictures, pick up our gifts for Nanny and Pawpaw, go to story and craft time at the library, HIPPY. I did manage to get all my gifts except those not in or from you know who wrapped! And I only have my brother left to buy for and all he wants is a steak dinner, and you can't really wrap that! Oh, and the girls want to get our pets something.

I also took this week to find some creative ways to hide our Elf on a Shelf named Boo Boo! So far we have just put him different places but thanks to friends and the Internet, Boo Boo may start getting into some trouble at night when he comes back from the North Pole! If you have any fun and creative ways please leave me a comment or Facebook me, this is the first year Santa let us have an elf! All three kids love finding Boo Boo each morning.

The girls and I went for haircuts this week with Mrs. Lindsey because we had family pictures with Mrs. Kellie. Too many Mrs, you ask? Well that may be true but Paul and I want to teach our kids respect for adults and to us that means referring to them as Mrs. or Mr, Aunt, or Uncle, instead of just calling them by name. Even our friends are called Mrs.? or Mr. ? So if I ever run into while out and about and one of my kids asks me your name, be warned that they will call you either Mrs. or Mr, out of respect not to make you feel old!

Saturday was our family picture day which is always a challenge...getting five people, three of whom are under five, to all look the same direction and smile...whew...glad I just have to smile! Mrs. Kellie did a super job as always and I can't wait to see!!

Next week is full of ornament making, play dates, visiting Santa, decorating the outside of the house, getting my Christmas cards done, and finish my shopping!!
