Unit 31

This week we studied the Santa Fe Trail and met a little boy named Nick in our history readings. Nick made the trip for the first time with his father and other men.  The girls are enjoying pioneering stories! We put the trail on our timeline and completed our notebook page.

We made our own "heavy wagon" and practiced pushing and pulling through obstacles in science. We also leaned how fireflies communicate, through flashing signals in their lighters.

The girls did their copyworkbon the poem Weather and liked the silly poem and discused homophones.

In bible we studies the verses Luke 12:25-26. It was long and they didn't memorize it but comprehended te meaning. Our bible lesson also came from Luke and we made a craft about our true treasure.

For music we listened to our song and the girls also had piano. Here is Ally practicing.

In spelling we did review and had lots of board races that the girls love.

We are still reading we are still reading Follow My Leader and working on point of view and the trait of Integrity. The gels are reading the ER book, The Bears in Hemlock Mountain. It is a cute book, a little old, but they like it! We may do a cereal box report when we finish it!

We are working on multiplication of threes this week in math.

We worked on writing a story about inviting a friend over on Saturday for narrative writing. We added specific details this weeks.

As enrichment this week we learned about Earth Day. We read books, recycled, and made a poem and a painting.

The kids had Co op this week and outside play/PE time!

It is hard to believe we only have three more units in Beyond!!
