Spring Break!

The VanEvera's March 19- 24

Well Spring Break is nearly over and it has been a wet, sad, fun, week. Paul spent the entire week working on his paper but the kids and I had fun. We ate and played at Chick Fil a, Jump Zone, a new park, a 2 night stay at Nanny's for the kids, a movie night for mommy and daddy.

Ian stayed the night for the first time with my parents this week and his one night stay extended into a two night stay! My little man came home Friday night and then begged and cried and pleaded when his sisters were going to stay another night. He put on his little shoes, grabbed his paci, and asked me "Pease momma, pease momma, pease?" with tears on his face. It broke my heart so I gave in and let him stay another night which sent me into tears. When did my little guy get so big? I spent Friday night down in the dumps and taking a hot bath while eating a big bowl of chocolate ice cream to make myself feel better. The kids had a wonderful time though!

Thursday night I did get to get in all the Hunger Games phenomena as did most of the country! Paul and I went to the midnight showing with our friends Gary and Erica and Helen who is in from Alaska. We had to get there 3 hours early to get seats but it was well worth it. We passed the game by eating, laughing, and playing a rousing game of phase 9! We tried phase 10 but by phase 9 we were hungry and ready for the movie! It was a good thing the kids were with my parents that night because Paul and I didn't get in and in bed until 4 am! I don't even remember the last name we were out or even up so late, I guess we still have it!

This week as earlier posted we lost our sweet dog of almost 9 years Nala. The kids took it hard for the first few days but are healing. Our other dog Cinders is still in mourning, she keeps looking for her best friend :( Those two were together for nearly 8 years and hated being apart even for a few minutes, so poor Cinders is really having a hard time. We have been giving her extra attention and letting her come in the house to get special treatment. I am hoping she gets used to being an only dog because if not, we will have to find her a new home with other dogs because we just can't get another pet right now. We got her because Nala couldn't be alone and the vet said she needed a friend.

While this Spring Break had some ups and downs it was still memorable nonetheless. We are now looking forward to the next big break from school, summer vacation and Disney World!!
