I have given Paul some pretty good gifts in our 15 years together, hats, shirts, shoes, three kids, a watch, video games but last nigth I came him another GREAT one! I took Paul out for his Valentines gift even though it was a bit early. We went to see Steven Curtis Chapman, Josh Wilson, and Andrew Petersen! It was such a good concert and I am so glad we were able to go. I know I probably shouldn't say this but it was cute to see Paul enjoying himself! He almost bought out the souvenir table, with a little help from me! SCC is his favorite artist and I wanted us to do something we don't normally do.
Paul is not the most out of he box thinker when it comes to date night, so I when I heard of this concert I thought it would be perfect for us, not the ordinary dinner and a movie. We try not to spend alot on our dates so concerts, weekend getaways, expensive dinners, musicals, plays, are usually out of the question. Our date nights, especially since we have kids, are not about spending money and doing something extravagant but spending time together just us. So when we get to do something like a concert it is even more special to us! Thanks to my mom for coming over and staying with my babies.
Not only does date night give Paul and I a chance to spend time together but it gives the kids a chance to play with Nanny and Pawpaw. I once heard that one of the greatest gift you can give your kids is a strong marriage and date night provides that for all of us. The kids see mommy have her alone time with God, her alone time with daddy, and her alone time with them, the perfect triangle for a solid family foundation!
I am looking forward to our next date night which is in a couple of weeks and to see if Paul can top the gift I gave him!
Andrew Peterson, sorry I spelled it wrong!
