Just Being Lisa and Paul

Since this week was Valentine's week Paul and I got to spend a night away from the kids just being Lisa and Paul, not just Mommy and Daddy :) I missed my babies something terrible but it was so nice to be with just my husband doing things together without our three favorite shadows. It has been said that one of the best gifts you can ever give your children is the gift of a solid marriage! I did leave each of the kids a surprise note in their snack box and only called a few times :)

We spent a night in Little Rock at a small little bed and breakfast called The Baker House. For both of us it was our first time to stay in one and we really enjoyed it, despite the fact that one couple, who happened to share a wall with this, came in at 4 a.m rather loudly and making some strange requests to each other : 0 It was very nice, cozy, romantic, rustic and the owner was very nice and the food was yummy! We definitely want to try another one!

We started out time away by finally joining the technology age and upgrading to iPhone ;)  It was a time with no kids to worry about keeping out of all the displays so we took our chance! We then proceeded to our destination where we checked in and toured. We went out to a nice dinner to Cajun's Wharf, another new place for us. The food was amazing, I ate every bite and my workouts this week are going to pay the price! We each had a the crab au gratin, a steak, and the white chocolate bread pudding..YUM! It was also nice to get hit on by the waiter and have my knight in shining armour get jealous :) All was well though!

We then headed out to the movies since we couldn't remember the last movie we saw in the theater together. It took us a bit to decided because we were torn between two of them but we ended up seeing Identify Thief, which was hilarious and the following morning we went back and saw Safe Haven, which was  more sappy and romantic. We were both pretty pleased with our picks!

After our Saturday night movie we went to a bookstore to peruse big person books, which to many is probably really nerdy but to us it is a real treat. I did buy a book for each of the kids because I just love books! We enjoyed some Starbucks coffee and took back a piece red velvet cheesecake to enjoy later. We had a wonderful evening!

On the way home we stopped off for a surprise to bring home to the kids, Dunkin' Donuts :) It was great to be just Lisa and Paul for a night  but being back to Mommy and Daddy is absolutely the BEST!
