Wonderful Wednesday

Today we had a really fun but packed day! We started out with our usual morning routine of calendar, journal, and counting. This is always fun and even my little ones join in on it.

We worked on telling time to the hour on both analog and digital clocks. You are both doing well on this. We also did addition and turn around facts. It took a bit to catch on but once you did it was easy. We have also started an addition game before bed with flashcards, you get one chance to earn five extra minutes of staying up! For every answer you get correct you get one extra minute! You both love it and it is really good practice.

We read the book the Mitten today by Jan Brett and did some fun retelling and comprehension practice as well as a story map. You are both getting very good at identifying story elements!  I cannot wait for you to retell the story to Daddy tonight!

We worked on our ea words and started on oy/oi words that we will work more on later in the week. You each read the bible story of Abraham very well, though Audrey needs to look at all letters when reading a word...she kept reading men as man!  Tomorrow we will do a sort with our words.

We had our library and PE times as well as computer time today and worked on our addition and skip counting skills. For art we made paper snowflakes since our science is over ice and snow. We got out our recorders and learned how to hold and care for them, as well ans how to blow and make noise!!! I cannot wait until we learn an actual song!
